Arlene Fromer
Arlene Fromer is an award-winning artist whose paintings explore nature through color, value and texture.
Arlene’s technique reflects her years as a watercolor artist. The use of canvas and acrylic paint allows her to build her acrylic paintings one layer at a time. Closer observation of the paintings reveals those layers.
“I am inspired by the beauty of my surroundings. The Sky/sea series of paintings are universal in nature. They are intended to be a reflection of sea and sky everywhere. The flower paintings hopefully provoke happy feelings. The abstract paintings are a tribute to nature and its colors.
Arlene’s paintings have been included in numerous exhibitions, and she was awarded first place in the watercolor society of Puerto Rico in 1993. Her paintings hang in private collections in the United States and Puerto Rico.
In addition, Arlene is the founder of Casa de la Bondad, the non-profit organization that has been providing shelter and collateral services to the survivors of domestic violence and their children in Puerto Rico, since 1993.
