half square triangle workshop

Discover the DNA of quilt design, the infamous half square triangle.  Combine design with fabric and a sewing machine to create artwork with this simple geometric shape. Call it quilting basics or simply fun with fabric.

Workshop Description: SKILL LEVEL: Beginners welcome.  If you are more advanced, work  at your own pace and ask for guidance when you need it.

 Learn the  basics from planning to finishing a quilt block that can be used as a standalone art piece or the start of a  project such as a wall hanging, table runner, pillow cover or placemat.

An introduction to, or review of sewing machine basics.  Practice 1/4” seams.

Select  one of the classics such as pinwheels or flying geese or design your own block.

Create  half square triangles. Measure, mark,  cut  and  sew  with a sewing machine. Create 16 half square triangles needed for a four by four  quilt block layout.
