Kinusaiga with Carroll Kelly

Kinusaiga, also known as Japanese fabric mosaic, uses scraps of Cloth tucked into lines etched into a foam board to create a picture. No sewing. One of the pieces created in our first workshop will be displayed at the Traditions exhibit in Carolina.

Choose one of our designs or make one of your own. Featured in December is Santa sitting in the sand. We will demonstrate basic tools, show you how to transfer a design onto the “canvas” and guide you in selecting fabrics to complete your work.

We provide your essential tools, fabric, foam board and a frame for your finished piece. No experience expected. Most students will complete the project in the 3 hour workshop. You are also welcome to take your piece home to finish - you will be provided with a supply of fabric if you choose to do so.
