This workshop is for those who wish to learn to paint with oils in the style of the old masters, like Rembrandt and Vermeer. No previous painting experience is necessary, but good drawing skills are required. This technique is taught over three sessions, as your paintings will be completed in 3 layers, with time to dry in between the layers.
Week 1 (January 11, 2026) - Subtractive Underpainting
You will learn how to prepare the canvas with a layer of paint, then subtract your image. This is easier than it sounds, but why good drawing skills are essential.
Week 2 (January 18, 2026) - Glazing
